Pantry Pointers
Waxed paper and parchment paper are not the equal-parchment paper is heavier than waxed paper. But in many instances, the two can be interchanged. Waxed paper has lots of makes use of-loosely overlaying ingredients in the microwave to save you spattering…catching ingredients which includes cheese, chocolate or lemon zest at the same time as grating…and overlaying a countertop whilst rolling out cookie dough, to call a few. Parchment paper is used to line baking sheets and make it less difficult to do away with sensitive baked items together with cookies, jelly rolls and meringues. It also may be used to create piping luggage for cake adorning or pouches to maintain within the juices of meats and vegetables at some stage in baking. (It makes cleanup a snap, too. Just toss the paper-there are not any pans to wash.) Both styles of paper may be used to line the interior of baking pans to prevent baked desserts from sticking to the pans.
