Cutting a Cake into Three Layers

Cakes

To cut a cake into 3 layers, first degree the peak of the cake with a ruler. Divide the variety by using 3 to decide the peak of each layer. (It’s k if each layer’s top isn’t exactly the same…lead them to as near as feasible.) With the ruler, mark the height of the lowest layer with a toothpick. From that toothpick, measure the peak of the middle layer and mark with a toothpick. Continue measuring across the cake, placing toothpicks every few inches. Using the best set of toothpicks as publications, reduce off the top layer of the cake with a long serrated knife. Carefully set aside. Using the remaining toothpicks as guides, reduce off the center layer; carefully set aside. Discard toothpicks. Frost as directed.
